Design leadership priced for startups.
I've designed software for 15 years. With AI I build it too, so I can take an idea all the way to a working product. Now I work as the design lead for a limited number of companies, part-time. You get senior design without paying a full-time salary for it.
Most teams don't need a designer forty hours a week.
They need senior judgement applied consistently, by someone who has been around long enough to know the product and the people using it.
An ongoing retainer
Usually a day or two a week, for a year or more. I embed with your team, set direction, and do the work as the product grows. No salary, benefits or equity to carry.
A short paid pilot
We start small so we both know it's a fit, then move to the retainer. Four years of my engagements have started exactly this way and turned into multi-year partnerships.
Where I've worked.
Design leadership across healthcare, AI, public sector and enterprise software for clients including Netsweeper and Lonza. Two products from concept to launch in my first year.
Software for cannabis testing instruments, then a second division's hardware release. Managed a contracted UX agency and shipped through validation sessions with real users.
Built UX practice into the product development process, from research and story mapping to high fidelity design. Spearheaded the company's first design system.
Owned all UI and UX for the company. Built and maintained the design system, defined the UX practices, and worked directly with product and engineering.
Senior designer on the product team, responsible for new features and a complete rethink of the web product's UI and UX.
Lead UX designer on Core, a multi-tenant enterprise SaaS product, covering product, launch branding and marketing. Earlier, managed a global design team and shaped the brand guidelines.
Strategy and craft, in the same hands.
Tell me what you're building.
No pitch. An honest conversation about where your product is and what it needs. If I'm not the right fit, I'll say so.
